Paranormal Investigation Event Terms & Conditions

1. About the experience

Ghost Connection provides paranormal investigation experiences at locations associated with reported paranormal activity, unusual events, historical accounts and/or unexplained experiences.

The purpose of the experience is to investigate these reports using a range of paranormal investigation techniques and equipment and to allow participants to form their own conclusions.

Ghost Connection does not represent or guarantee that ghosts, spirits, entities or other paranormal phenomena exist, will be present, or will be experienced during an investigation.

Reports of paranormal activity are presented as reported experiences, historical accounts or claims unless otherwise expressly identified as documented fact.

2. What your ticket includes

Your ticket provides access to the specific investigation described on the event booking page, including the advertised investigation duration, venue access, activities, equipment and/or guidance.

The exact activities and inclusions may vary between investigations and will be stated on the relevant event listing.

3. Paranormal activity is not guaranteed

Paranormal activity, spirit communication, visual phenomena, unexplained sounds, equipment responses or other supernatural experiences are not guaranteed outcomes of any investigation.

The absence of paranormal activity does not constitute a failure to provide the investigation experience where the advertised event, venue access, activities and inclusions have been provided.

4. Event changes

Ghost Connection reserves the right to make reasonable changes to an investigation where circumstances outside its reasonable control require this.

This may include venue restrictions, safety concerns, severe weather, emergency situations, illness, access issues or other circumstances affecting the operation of the event.

Where a significant change, cancellation or postponement affects the service purchased, Ghost Connection will communicate the available options to affected ticket holders in accordance with applicable New Zealand consumer law.

5. Cancellations and refunds

Refund and cancellation rights will depend on the circumstances and applicable New Zealand consumer law.

If Ghost Connection cancels an event, ticket holders will be contacted regarding the applicable refund or alternative arrangements.

Customer-requested cancellations and ticket transfers are subject to the cancellation and transfer conditions stated on the individual event booking page.

Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude or limit rights that cannot legally be excluded under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or Fair Trading Act 1986.

6. Venue access

Participants must comply with all reasonable instructions provided by Ghost Connection and the venue.

Some investigation locations may contain uneven surfaces, stairs, darkness, confined areas, old structures or other hazards associated with historic or unusual buildings.

Participants must remain within areas authorised for the investigation and must not enter restricted areas.

7. Participant behaviour

Participants must behave respectfully towards the venue, other participants, staff and investigators.

The following may result in removal from the event without refund where reasonably justified:

  • Deliberately damaging venue property

  • Entering restricted areas

  • Threatening, abusive or disruptive behaviour

  • Intentionally interfering with investigation equipment

  • Possession or use of prohibited substances at the event

  • Behaviour that creates a safety risk to themselves or others

8. Personal responsibility and safety

Participants are responsible for following safety instructions and informing Ghost Connection staff of any relevant accessibility requirements or limitations that may affect their participation.

Participants should wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the location and conditions described in the event listing.

Ghost Connection will take reasonable care in organising and conducting the experience, but participants must follow reasonable safety directions throughout the investigation.

Nothing in these terms excludes any consumer guarantee, right or liability that cannot legally be excluded under New Zealand law.

9. Photography, video and recording

Ghost Connection may photograph or record portions of an investigation for promotional, documentary or social-media purposes.

Where required, participants will be given an appropriate opportunity to indicate that they do not wish to appear in promotional material.

Participants must respect the privacy of other attendees and must not publish identifying images or recordings of other participants without their permission.

10. Evidence and investigation results

Any photographs, audio recordings, video, equipment responses or other material collected during an investigation may be reviewed and discussed by Ghost Connection and participants.

Ghost Connection does not guarantee that any material collected will demonstrate paranormal activity.

Interpretations of investigation material may differ between participants. Ghost Connection may describe material as unexplained, anomalous or potentially paranormal without representing that such material constitutes definitive proof of supernatural activity.

11. Acceptance

By purchasing a ticket and participating in the investigation, you acknowledge that you are purchasing a paranormal investigation experience and not a guaranteed supernatural encounter.

You agree to follow the reasonable instructions of Ghost Connection and the venue and to comply with these terms.

Media and Commercial Content

Attendance at Ghost Connection events is as a private participant unless prior written approval has been obtained for media attendance or content creation. Anyone attending for the purpose of journalism, documentary production, commercial content creation or other publication must disclose this purpose to Ghost Connection before booking.

Ghost Connection reserves the right to approve or decline media attendance and to impose reasonable conditions on recording, interviewing, photography, filming and access to participants or event materials.
